LTC Bullet: JBQ on LTCI
Monday April 23, 2001
Nothing stirs interest in an issue or a product (or an organization) like coverage in a nationally syndicated column. Over the years, financial columnist Jane Bryant Quinn has penned numerous columns criticizing Medicaid estate planning abuse and encouraging individual responsibility for long-term care. She has always recommended private long-term care insurance (though rarely without some criticism) as preferable to artificial self-impoverishment to qualify for Medicaid (which she has consistently condemned). Here's a link to Jane Bryant Quinn's latest Washington Post column: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47233-2001Apr21.html. The Center for LTC Financing provided background for this column and directed Ms. Quinn's researcher to several LTCI industry experts.
