Dear California Friends of the Center for LTC Reform:
I'm sending "blind copies" of this message to the Center for LTC Reform's email address list for California. It's a heads up about a project we're beginning with the Pacific Research Institute (www.pacificresearch.org). PRI's mission is to champion freedom, opportunity, and personal responsibility by advancing free-market policy solutions.
Linked here is a description of the project. In a nutshell, our goal is to identify ways to strengthen California's long-term care safety net, save Medi-Cal dollars, and encourage responsible long-term care planning. Please also see the Center's recent report of a similar study conducted in Rhode Island.
I will be in California, mostly in the Sacramento/San Francisco area, conducting briefings and interviews during the week of September 13-17, 2010. I will need to meet with groups or individuals representing the fields of long-term care service delivery (nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home health agencies), long-term care insurance marketing and regulation, home equity conversion (reverse mortgages), elder law, senior advocacy, public policy, legislation, Medi-Cal administration, and the business community.
If you would like to be involved in this study, either to help organize and/or host a meeting or simply to participate as an attendee/interviewee, please let me know by replying to this message. Thanks for your interest.
Sincerely,
Steve Moses
